    (see Figure 2-1). To function as a system, a server module is inserted into a chassis that supports power supplies, fan modules, a management module (Dell Remote Access Controller/Modular Chassis [DRAC/MC]), a KVM switch module, and at least one I/O module for network connectivity.

     System Status Features The chassis has front-panel control features including power and identification buttons and indicators (see Figure 2-2). Press the power button to turn on the system; press and hold the power button to turn off the system. Pressing the identification button activates the identification indicator on both the front and back (on the KVM module) of the system.

    Each server module has a USB port on the front of the server module which allows you to connect a custom cable for a diskette drive or USB CD drive. The drive must be horizontal and level to operate properly.      Warning Messages A warning message alerts you to a possible problem and prompts you to respond before the system continues a task. For example, before you format a diskette, a message will warn you that you may lose all data on the diskette. Warning messages usually interrupt the task and require you to respond by typing y (yes) or n (no).
