Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to override the default link-type setting. This procedure
is optional.

A multiple spanning tree (MST) must be specified and enabled on the switch. For instructions, see Related

Configuring Multiple Spanning-Tree Protocol
Purpose
Enters the global configuration mode.
Specifies an interface to configure, and enters interface
configuration mode. Valid interfaces include physical
ports.
Specifies that the port can send only prestandard BPDUs.
Returns to privileged EXEC mode.
