Configuring the VLAG

1. Configure the VLAN for VLAG 1 ports.

2. Shut down ISL ports and VLAG ports. This ensures that traffic passes through to

other switches.

3. Map the VLAN to an MSTI.

4. Disable VLAG.

5. Add VLAG ports to the VLAN.

6. Enable VLAG.

7. Place the VLAG 1 ports in a port trunk group.

8. Assign the trunk to the VLAG.

9. Continue by configuring all required VLAGs on VLAG Peer 1, then follow the

steps for configuring VLAG Peer 2.

To configure the VLAG:

RS G8264(config)# vlan 100

RS G8264(configvlan)# exit

Note: The VLAN is automatically mapped to CIST.

RS G8264(config)# interface port 12,8

RS G8264(configif)# shutdown

RS G8264(config)# spanningtree mst 1 vlan 100

RS G8264(config)# no vlag enable

RS G8264(config)# interface port 12,8

RS G8264(configif)# switchport mode trunk

RS G8264(configif)# switchport trunk allowed vlan 100

RS G8264(configif)# exit

RS G8264(config)# vlag enable

RS G8264(config)# interface port 8

RS G8264(configif)# lacp mode active

RS G8264(configif)# lacp key 1000

RS G8264(configif)# exit

RS G8264(config)# vlag adminkey 1000 enable
