SPPA-T3000, via the PROFIBUS DP bus system. These products are based on extensive experience in process control and with the current system generation 7 of the Siemens automation range "Totally Integrated Automation". PROFIBUS DP connection The AddFEM SoE has two PROFIBUS DP interfaces DP A and DP B that operate in parallel.
AddFEM (Front End Module). The technical specifications for the inputs and outputs are described in the "AddFEM (Front End Module)" operating instructions in the "Technical specifications" section. The document is available under the following link: Internet (http://www.siemens.com/automation/service&support) Accessories Designation Length Article number SoE repeater module –...
AddFEM and is described in the correspondingly named section in the "AddFEM (Front End Module)" operating instructions. The document is available under the following link: Internet (http://www.siemens.com/automation/service&support) Configuration of the AddFEM SoE The configuration of the front-end function SoE is performed via a configuration tool, for example HW Config with GSD tool.

Functional description of the AddFEM SoE 3.2 Operating modes Operating modes Depending on the application case, the AddFEM SoE can be configured singularly with one or two PROFIBUS DP connections. The following two operating modes are supported: Operating System configuration Description mode Host singular...
Functional description of the AddFEM SoE 3.3 Redundancy functions of the AddFEM SoE Redundancy functions of the AddFEM SoE With operating mode 1 in accordance with section "Operating modes (Page 15)", the connection between the host and the AddFEM SoE is designed redundantly via two PROFIBUS connections.
The functions of the AddFEM SoE correspond to those of the AddFEM and are described in the correspondingly named section in the "AddFEM (Front End Module)" operating instructions. The document is available under the following link: Internet (http://www.siemens.com/automation/service&support) Front-end function SoE Configuring the AddFEM SoE The AddFEM SoE (6DL3100-8AC03) can be connected either redundantly or non- redundantly via PROFIBUS DP to a host system, for example SPPA-T3000.

Functions of the AddFEM SoE 4.1 Front-end function SoE Event buffer If an event buffer is filled completely or the configured time "EVENT_BUF_ TRANS_INTERVALL" has expired, the PROFIBUS master is informed via an alarm that messages are pending. The transfer of the messages to the PROFIBUS master is triggered via the alarm mechanism in accordance with the following document.

Functions of the AddFEM SoE 4.1 Front-end function SoE Exception_Events ● START_THE_PROCESS – The beginning of the start information of the signals that are to be recorded is signaled with this Exception_Event and Subtype 1. – This Exception_Event with Subtype 0 follows at the end of the last start information. All the events with a time stamp between the beginning and the end of this Execption_Event are not trigger events, but rather show the current state of the signals at the moment of the process start.

Functions of the AddFEM SoE 4.1 Front-end function SoE ● SYNC_FAILURE A synchronization failure is reported if a clock pulse fails. The accuracy of the internal clock is not affected immediately. Note The bit Synch_Status = 1 for "Time stamp invalid" is not set in the time stamp until 3 minutes have passed after the failure of the clock pulse.

Functions of the AddFEM SoE 4.1 Front-end function SoE Flutter monitoring The flutter monitoring detects signal changes that are unusual in process engineering, for example when an input signal fluctuates too often between "0" and "1". Flutter monitoring can be configured for each digital input. The following figure shows a graphical representation of the principle of flutter monitoring.
Functions of the AddFEM SoE 4.2 Display functions of the error and status LEDs Display functions of the error and status LEDs As of FEF-03 software version 05, the synchronization status is displayed additionally on the AddFEM SoE. This can be used during commissioning in order to check whether the optical synchronization pulse of the GPS Time Server sent typically in a minute interval is inserted correctly at the AddFEM SoE.
