6.7 Drum rotation principle
1. Drive belt
2. Belt tensioner
3. Drum rotation motor
4. Belt tensioner spring
5. Running capacitor
The drum is rotated by a belt (1), which is driven by the pulley of the drum motor (3) fitted to the base; on the
bearing shield there is a belt tensioner (2), which has the function of increasing the winding angle of the belt to
the drum and works in conjunction with the belt tensioner spring (4).
Bidirectional operation of the drum rotation is determined by the electronic board which inverts the motor power
direction for brief periods. Reversal of the direction of rotation allows the clothes to unroll. During these short
periods, the heater unit is switched off.
