You can operate the answering machine
built into the base with the handset, your
base's keypad (page 2) or remotely
(another telephone/mobile phone).

If you receive a prompt or message while
operating the answering machine, the
handset's loudspeaker will activate auto-
matically. Switch the loudspeaker off
with the handsfree button d.

When the answering machine is activated
the remaining memory time is
announced. Icon ± appears in the display.
Button ö lights up on the base.
The telephone is supplied with a pre-
recorded announcement. This pre-
recorded announcement is used if no per-
sonal announcement is available.
The answering machine deactivates auto-
matically when the memory is full. It acti-
vates again automatically when you
delete old messages.

Please note:

Recording ends automatically when
the max. recording time of 170 sec-
onds is reached or if there is a break in
speaking of more than 2 seconds.

If you cancel a recording the pre-
recorded announcement will be used
again.

Recording is cancelled if the answering
machine's memory is full.

Playing messages
The date and time of arrival of each mes-
sage is logged (if set, page 8). If Calling
Line Identification is activated, then the
caller's number is displayed. The caller's
name is displayed if his number is stored
in the directory.
