Using The CAM Stand During Playback If you leave the camcorder's power on for a long time while using it on a table top etc., the camcorder's surface may become hot. Attach it to the CAM Stand and play back. -

Full Auto/Manual Operation The following chart shows you which functions are available in the Full Auto and Manual operation modes. According to the shooting mode selector position you have selected, "F.AUTO" or "MANUAL" appears in the upper left corner of the LCD monitor screen. -

If 5 minutes elapse in the Record-Standby mode, power shuts off automatically to conserve energy and protect the heads. To turn the camcorder on again, set the Power Dial to “OFF”, then to “REC”. As long as you don’t take out the tape you were using or play it back, you can continue from where you left off with no noticeable break on the recorded video. - Page 20 Recording From The Middle Of A Tape When removing a tape on which you were recording, or when you resume recording on a tape after playing back the recording previously made (without taking the tape out between recordings), perform this procedure.

Snapshot Use your camcorder like a regular camera and take a snapshot, or several of them in succession. SOUND Sound signals can be sampled at 32 kHz or 48 kHz. 32 kHz–The camcorder is factory-preset for 32 kHz. This setting enables recording of stereo sound on pg. 46) and four separate channels, and is recommended for use when performing Audio Dubbing. -

FADE/WIPE Effects Use these to spice up the transition from one scene to the next. You can also vary transitions from scene to scene. Select any one effect from the Fader/Wipe Menu. To use effects that don’t appear in the menu, exchange them ( pg. - Page 35 ACTIVATE FADE OUT OR WIPE OUT When you want to stop recording the scene, press RECORDING START/STOP. Before the camcorder enters the Record/Standby mode, the Fade Out or Wipe Out occurs automati- cally. NOTE: You can extend the length of a fade or wipe by pressing and holding the RECORDING START/ STOP button.

If you dub onto a blank space on the tape, the sound may be disrupted. Make sure you only edit recorded areas. If feedback or howling occurs during TV Playback, move the Docking Station so the camcorder’s micro- phone is away from the TV, or turn down the TV’s volume. -

Insert Editing You can record a new scene into a previously recorded tape, replacing a section of the original recording with minimal picture distortion at the in- and out-points.
