If Something Goes Wrong
Remedy when Windows 2000 is Usable
If you cannot solve a problem on a system running Windows 2000, following the
procedure below, and contact Toshiba Technical Support.

Run the server monitor software, and make sure that there are no devices with
errors.

Run the utilities for mounted devices (RAID controller, UPS, and so on), and make
sure that there are no problems. Refer to the operating manual of each respective
device for more information.

Record the details of the problem, how frequently it occurs, the environment, and the
method for duplicating the problem.

With systems not equipped with a redundant Hard Disk Drive (HDD), or when the
cause of the problem cannot be specified, shut down the system, turn the server off,
and contact Toshiba Technical Support.

On a system equipped with a redundant Hard Disk Drive (HDD), if you can confirm
that one of the devices is malfunctioning, contact Toshiba Technical Support with the
system running.
If one of the devices has malfunctioned on a system equipped with a redundant
Hard Disk Drive (HDD), the malfunctioning device can be hot-swapped.
Remedy when Windows 2000 is Unusable
If you cannot solve a problem on a system where the OS does not boot up or Windows
2000 is unusable, record the following information before contacting Toshiba Technical
Support.

❖
List of hardware and software installed in the server
❖
Brief statement of the problem
❖
Frequency of the problem
❖
Environment where the problem occurred
❖
Method of duplicating the problem
